The Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Plan Stratégique National (PSN) de lutte contre le paludisme 2020–2023 has the following aims, objectives and strategies.
Aim: The aim of this NSP is to contribute to the elimination of malaria in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and, in doing so, improve the health status of the general population by reducing the human and socio-economic burden caused by malaria.
Overall objective: The overall objective of this 2020–2023 NSP is to reduce malaria-related morbidity by 40% and mortality by 50% compared to 2018 data.
Intervention strategies:These are based on three main strategic pillars of the revised 2019–2022 National Health Development Plan (PNDS). These are:
- improving health service delivery and the continuity of quality care at various levels of the health system;
- supporting the various pillars of the health system; and
- strengthening governance and the health system.
