National Malaria Strategic Plan (NMSP) of Mali: 2013 – 2017

This Plan Stratégique National de Lutte contre le Paludisme (PSNLP) 2013 – 2017 covers a five-year period. Its objectives align closely with the guidelines of the National Health and Population Policy, the strategic pillars of the PDDSS (2012–2021), the CSCRP (2012–2016), and the 2015 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Vision: “A malaria-free Mali.”

Mission: The Program’s mission is to ensure universal and equitable access to malaria control interventions for the entire population, within the framework of the national health policy.

Goal: To contribute to reducing the burden of malaria to a level where it no longer constitutes a major cause of morbidity and mortality, nor a barrier to economic and social development.

Objectives: By the end of 2015 and beyond:-

1. Reduce malaria-related deaths to a figure close to zero;
2. Reduce malaria cases by at least 75% compared to 2000;
3. Strengthen the Programme’s coordination and management capacities.
