This 5th Generation Burundi Plan Strategique National De Lutte Contre Le Paludisme (2021-2027) comprises eight strategic areas:
- Strengthening the coordination and partnership framework,
- Improving Supply and Stock Management,
- Consolidating the prevention framework,
- Strengthening the care framework,
- Improving services offered to key populations,
- Strengthening the communication framework,
- Improving Surveillance and Response, and
- Improving the Monitoring and Evaluation framework
The creation of this document is the result of the efforts of the technical and financial partners involved in the fight against malaria in Burundi, the technical services of the Ministry of Public Health and the Fight against AIDS, and field actors (provincial and district health officers). It provides the country with a framework that sets objectives, defines strategic directions, implementation and monitoring and evaluation methods, and identifies the human, material, and financial resources needed to combat malaria over the next six years.
