Study on dynamic modeling and optimization control strategy of malaria and dengue fever in China

Objectives

The purpose of this project is to establish some malaria and dengue dynamic models by combining malaria elimination and the prevention and control of dengue with the transmission mechanism of malaria and dengue, and evaluate the feasibility of malaria elimination and some control measures for dengue.

Rationale and Abstract

Malaria and dengue, these human acute infectious diseases with high incidence and fatality rate, are also transmitted through the bite of infected mosquito. Malaria is an infection parasitic disease which is transmitted by the female Anopheles mosquito. However, dengue is an infectious viral disease which is transmitted by the female Aedes mosquitoes. The theoretical analysis and numerical simulations of the models are discussed. Parameters of models are estimated by using some statistical methods with the practical data, and then, the feasibility of malaria elimination work, the influence of imported cases, the dengue prevalence, the time and the scale of the peak etc, will be predicted. This project will give the sensitivity analysis of each parameter, find the critical factors affecting dengue prevalence, and search for the optimal control of intervention measures, and these research can provide the theoretical and quantity basis for malaria eliminate and prevention and control for the spread of dengue. The research of the project has not only an important significance in terms of new theories and methods for epidemic models, but also direct application values for malaria elimination and dengue control.
