Evaluation of the molecular protocols LAMP Illumigene Malaria and Malachite Green for the detection of asymptomatic infections and their applicability in hemotherapy practices and organ or tissue transplants

Objectives

This objective of this project is to evaluate the applicability of the Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) Illumigene Malaria LAMP molecular assay, comparing its sensitivity and reproducibility with qPCR, Malachite Green-LAMP and nested PCR techniques, for the detection of asymptomatic Plasmodium infections in samples from blood donors and in organ or tissue donors/recipients for transplants.
