National Malaria Strategic Plan (NMSP) of Kenya: 2023 – 2027
Countries: Kenya
Published: 24/05/2024
The Kenya Malaria Strategy 2023—2027 was developed based on recommendations of a consultative, multistakeholder malaria programme review of the 2019—2023 malaria strategy. The new strategy therefore, builds on the achievements and lessons learnt from the implementation of the previous strategy.
The strategy has set ambitious targets to reduce malaria incidence and deaths by 80 percent and 90 percent by 2027/28, respectively. In line with the Global Technical Strategy for Malaria 2016—2030 and, given the low burden of malaria in a vast area of the country, the strategy seeks to interrupt indigenous malaria transmission in select counties by 2027/28. The strategic directions provide a comprehensive plan and action across all interventions, including the adoption of innovations and technologies. The strategy maintains the spirit of ensuring optimal coverage
of impactful interventions.
