The implementation of this new Plan Stratégique National de Lutte Contre le Paludisme au Cameroun 2024–2028 will improve certain indicators deemed insufficient; the vision of this new 2024-2028 plan is to achieve an “emerging Cameroon free of malaria,” and its goal is to contribute to improving the health of the Cameroonian population by reducing the burden of the disease and the socioeconomic impact of malaria. To achieve this goal, the country will rely on the four pillars of the WHO’s “HBHI” approach, which are:

  • Pillar 1: Strengthening policy dialogue at the national and community levels;
  • Pillar 2: Using strategic information for action;
  • Pillar 3: Key policies and strategies for malaria control;
  • Pillar 4: Coordinating the national response.
