The purpose of the National Malaria Elimination Strategic Plan 2022 – 2030 called Documento Técnico: Plan hacia la Eliminación de la Malaria en Perú 2022 – 2030 is to contribute to the elimination of malaria in Peru, through the implementation of a community-focused Plan. The main objective of the plan is to implement activities for the elimination of malaria, with a community approach and reduce malaria cases by 90% in Peru in the period 2022-2030.
Purpose: To contribute to the elimination of malaria in Peru through the implementation of a community-based plan.
General Objective: To implement activities for malaria elimination using a community-based approach and to reduce malaria cases in Peru by 90% during the 2022–2030 period.
Specific Objectives:
- Provide timely access to malaria diagnosis and treatment in areas of transmission.
- Strengthen and optimize the malaria management, information, and surveillance system to generate timely, high-quality information.
- Promote healthy lifestyles that reduce disease transmission.
- Implement surveillance and control of the malaria-transmitting vector.
- Develop effective communication strategies regarding malaria prevention and
control. - Conduct operational research on the effectiveness of interventions.
- Incorporate the “Plan for Malaria Elimination in Peru 2022–2030” into regional and local regulations.
- Establish monitoring, evaluation, and supervision of activities as an integral part of the actions under the “Plan for Malaria Elimination in Peru 2022–2030.”
