The purpose of the National Malaria Elimination Strategic Plan 2022 – 2030 called Documento Técnico: Plan hacia la Eliminación de la Malaria en Perú 2022 – 2030 is to contribute to the elimination of malaria in Peru, through the implementation of a community-focused Plan. The main objective of the plan is to implement activities for the elimination of malaria, with a community approach and reduce malaria cases by 90% in Peru in the period 2022-2030.

Purpose: To contribute to the elimination of malaria in Peru through the implementation of a community-based plan.

General Objective: To implement activities for malaria elimination using a community-based approach and to reduce malaria cases in Peru by 90% during the 2022–2030 period.

Specific Objectives:

  1. Provide timely access to malaria diagnosis and treatment in areas of transmission.
  2. Strengthen and optimize the malaria management, information, and surveillance system to generate timely, high-quality information.
  3. Promote healthy lifestyles that reduce disease transmission.
  4. Implement surveillance and control of the malaria-transmitting vector.
  5. Develop effective communication strategies regarding malaria prevention and
    control.
  6. Conduct operational research on the effectiveness of interventions.
  7. Incorporate the “Plan for Malaria Elimination in Peru 2022–2030” into regional and local regulations.
  8. Establish monitoring, evaluation, and supervision of activities as an integral part of the actions under the “Plan for Malaria Elimination in Peru 2022–2030.”
