Consolidating gains and scaling up malaria interventions in South Sudan

Objectives

The aim of this project was to increase the number of children under five years of age who receive appropriate treatment with artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) in Aweil west and Aweil center counties in Northern Bar El Ghazal (NBEG) state to 60%.

Rationale and Abstract

Community drug distributor were trained on integrated comminity case mangemnet on malaria, pnu monia and diarrhoea treatment for children under five, CDD were were able to use ICCM guidelines to treat three diseaeses including malaria. CDD provided the health education and awarness sesssions on malria, diarrhoea and pnumonia prevention .
