Evaluation of G6PD deficiency testing strategies prior to conducting mass drug administration with primaquine in Lihir island, Papua New Guinea

Objectives

To constitute a pilot study to investigate the epidemiology of G6PD-deficiency in Lihir, assess the potential safety of weekly PQ dosing and determine the most cost-effective screening strategy for G6PD deficiency in Lihir Island prior to conducting large-scale MDA intervention with primaquine.
