WANIDA Symposium #1: Infectious Diseases in an Era of Global Change
The West African Network of Infectious Diseases African Centres of Excellence (WANIDA) is organizing its first hybrid Symposium on “Infectious Diseases in an Era of Global Change: Innovative multidisciplinary pan-african efforts towards building research capacity in Africa” from March 8 to 10, 2023.
Date: March 8 – 10, 2023
Place: Hybrid – online and Accra, Ghana
This event will be hosted by the West African Centre for Cell Biology of Infectious Pathogens (WACCBIP), University of Ghana, which is the Coordination Centre of WANIDA. Due to the pandemic, this symposium will be a hybrid event with an in-person component as well as a virtual component to allow for flexibility and networking opportunities.

WANIDA Symposium is accepting abstracts, Oral or Posters, within following thematic areas:
- Surveillance and preparedness for new pandemics
- Pathogenic basis of diseases and host responses
- Innovative disease prevention strategies and vaccinology
- Neglected Tropical Diseases
- Strategies for malarial control and elimination
The Symposium attendance is also open to non-presenters. Registration is free for all.
