Volunteer as a MESA Correspondent to report from the 2022 PAMCA Annual Conference & Exhibition

Are you interested in malaria research? Would you like to improve your writing skills? Would you like to attend the PAMCA Annual Conference and Exhibition for free? Here is your opportunity: volunteer as MESA Correspondent to report from the 8th PAMCA Annual Conference and Exhibition!

What do you have to do?

We are seeking volunteers as MESA Correspondents to report from the PAMCA Annual Conference and Exhibition on Harnessing local institutional and community support for the elimination of vector-born disease (VBDs). The meeting will be in person in Kigali, Rwanda, therefore, MESA is looking for correspondents to attend the conference in September, from the 26th to the 28th.

With the help of some guidelines shared in advance, the MESA Correspondents summarize the contents of selected malaria talks in a short report. The reports are reviewed by recognized senior malaria editors and afterwards, they are published and disseminated through the MESA channels.

  • Free registration to the PAMCA Annual Conference and Exhibition, which will take place on September 26 – 28.

How to apply?

The application to become a MESA Correspondent for the PAMCA Annual Conference and Exhibition consists of:

  • Short Curriculum vitae
  • Motivation statement (100-word limit) indicating which areas of malaria you have knowledge of and why you want to be part of the program.
  • Synopsis of one of these videos (200-word limit)

The opportunity to be a correspondent is open to everyone. Researchers, malaria professionals or students from Africa are highly encouraged to apply. Please send applications to mesa@isglobal.org no later than July 31, 2022. Selected MESA Correspondents will be helped to defray the costs of meeting registration, flight and accommodation. However, meals, ground transportation during the course of the conference will not be covered and no per diems. MESA Correspondents will be chosen by the MESA team based on the quality of the applications. Thanks for your interest
