The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), in collaboration with the University of Ghana and the Institute for Disease Modeling (IDM), is pleased to announce the Applied Malaria Modeling Faculty Enrichment Program (FE-Ghana 2026).
Starting date: April or May 2026- still pending for confirmation.
Duration: 4 months
Location: In person, at the Fred N. Binka School of Public Health, UHAS.
This intensive in-person faculty enrichment program, to be held in Hohoe, Ghana, is designed to strengthen applied malaria modeling capacity among Sub-Saharan African scientists and faculty.
The program will commence between April and May 2026 and focuses on hands-on training in applied epidemiological modeling, with a strong emphasis on the Epidemiological MODeling Software (EMOD) an open-source platform widely used to support malaria control and elimination efforts. Participants will engage in practical sessions on model configuration, data analysis, utilization of HDS survey data, and scientific writing and communication.
