TRANSVAC Call for Applications: Grant writing, grant management and translational vaccinology.
TRANSVAC opens a call for application to 3 training modules, on grant writing, grant management and translational vaccinology.
Candidates working worldwide are eligible to apply, who are working in vaccine development research. Candidates must preferably already possess training in the area of vaccine research and development from an internationally recognised university or institution.
1) Module: Grant writing
- Course Goal: This course provides practical tools, strategies and tips to excel in grant writing, with a special focus on grant applications to EU-funded programmes such as Horizon Europe and EDCTP, as well as other international funding schemes like NIH. Learn how to design compelling proposals, and align with funders´ priorities.
- Course Dates: 8-9 April 2025
- Location: Accra, Ghana.

2) Module: Grant Management
- Course Goal: This comprehensive course equips participants with essential skills to manage grants effectively, focusing on EU-funded programs such as Horizon Europe, IHI (Innovative Health Initiative), EDCTP (European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership), and other international financing schemes. Designed to address the complexities of grant administration, the course combines practical insights with hands-on exercises, ensuring participants are well-prepared to handle project reporting, compliance, and financial management.

3) Module: Translational Vaccinology
- Course Goal: This course offers an overview of translational vaccinology, bridging the gap between research and practical application. It covers key aspects of vaccine development, manufacturing, and testing, equipping participants with the knowledge and tools to navigate the complex vaccine development pipeline, from preclinical studies to clinical trials and production.
- Course Dates: 14-15 April 2025
- Location: Accra, Ghana.
For each module, the European Vaccine Initiative (EVI) offers free registration and travel funding to selected researchers from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). These registration and travel grants for LMIC applicants are generously sponsored by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI).
