The African Region Monitoring Vaccine Effectiveness (AFRO-MoVE) Network calls for Expression of Interest to apply for a course on Vaccine Effectiveness (VE) studies aiming at building capacity in this field.
Duration: 3 days ( arrival in the evening before the course begins).

- Portuguese:2-4 December 2025
- French: 17-19 February 2026
Venue: WHO Regional Office for Africa, Brazzaville, Republic of Congo.
Training objectives:
- Understand the role of post-marketing (phase IV) Ve studies.
- Apply epidemiological study designs to estimate vaccine effectiveness.
- Identify and address biases and confounding factors.
- Strengthen analysis and interpretation for policy and outbreak response.
Who should apply?
- Mid-level epidemiologists and public health professionals.
- Postgraduate training in epidemiology, monitoring & evaluation, surveillance, data science, and research roles.
- Experience with data analysis and statistical software.
Logistics & Funding:
- Travel and accommodation support available for the selected participants.
- Supported by the Gates Foundation
- Participants need to bring their own laptop with Excel/R installed.
- Certificates will be delivered upon completion of the training.
