Ramón Areces Foundation Call for Applications: Doctoral Theses in Life Sciences and Matter Completion Grant

The Ramón Areces Foundation calls for applications to the Doctoral Theses in Life Sciences and Matter Completion Grant. The objective is the training of people who wish to start scientific research, financing contracts for the completion of doctoral theses in doctoral programs at universities and other Spanish research centers whose objective is to obtain the title of Doctor from January 2023.

Eligibility:

• Be in possession of a graduate degree, engineer, architect or university graduate, with a degree of at least 240 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System), at the time of submitting the application. In this call, preference will be given to candidates who have obtained these qualifications between 2018 and 2022.
• Be enrolled or admitted in a face-to-face doctoral program at a university or research center whose headquarters are in Spain or, not being enrolled or admitted in the aforementioned doctoral program at the time of submitting the application, be willing to be admitted prior to the date on which the benefit is formalized.
• Not be in possession of a doctor’s degree or have previously enjoyed a pre-doctoral contract.
• Applicants must have an average grade in their academic record corresponding to the bachelor’s degree, degree or equivalent degree higher than 2 on the 0-4 scale (Passed-1, Outstanding-2, Outstanding-3, Honors.
• The average grade of the file will be the result of the application of the following formula: sum of the credits obtained by the student, multiplied each one of them by the value of the corresponding qualifications, and divided by the number of total credits obtained.

Funding details:

• 25.644€ gross per year (14 monthly payments)
• Duration of 1 year, extendable for up to three more years prior to a progress report on results and approval by the Patronato de la Fundación.
