PAMCA Webinar – The role of women in the control of vector-borne diseases: Making Vision 2030 a reality
Pan-African Mosquito Control Program (PAMCA) is inviting you to register for, and attend a webinar on “The role of women in the control of vector-borne diseases: Making Vision 2030 a reality“. This is in celebration of International Women’s Day 2023, and focuses on understanding the role of women in the fight against VBDs in the realization of Vision 2030.
In recognition of the critical role women play in achieving parity in health and well-being of society, PAMCA is committed to building the capacity of women leaders in the control of vector-borne diseases (VBDs) in Africa. Specifically, PAMCA aims to achieve these goals by strengthening the role of women in VBDs control through policy and advocacy; promoting gender equity and equality; building women’s capacity through targeted training programmes (technical courses, leadership, communication, and confidence-building initiatives) and mentorship; and promoting the active engagement of nonprofessional women within grassroot communities in VBDs control and elimination efforts.

Objectives:
The overall objective of the webinar is to share and learn from the experiences, insights, and development journeys of global women leaders and men allies. More so, identify strategies and mechanisms for creating enabling environment for women to thrive in the control of VBDs and elimination.
Expected outcomes:
- Shared information on leadership and pathways to success
- Understanding the journey of women in managerial positions in vector control activities
- Hearing the views of men and how to work together as allies
