Manuela Runge, Nathalie Amvongo Adjia and Ntui Vincent will cover the science and discussions from BioMalPar conference "Biology and Pathology of the Malaria Parasite", which will take place virtually, on May 18 - 19. Summaries will be posted online on the MESA Correspondents page and on MalariaWorld.
The initiative is a collaboration between the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) and the African Institute for Development Policy (AFIDEP), and is implemented in East and West Africa. The purpose of the Award is to increase efforts by AAS scholars and researchers that seek to promote, support, and enable evidence-informed decision-making within government agencies in their countries. Applications deadline April 1, 2020.
Dr Xavier Fernàndez Busquets is the Head of the Nanomalaria Joint Unit at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) and the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal). After a couple of postdoctoral fellows, in 2001 he obtained a Ramón y Cajal grant to start his research on Nanomedicine. Some years later, his research aims moved towards applying nanotechnology to fight malaria.

The Global Challenges Research Fund Networking Grants provide opportunities for researchers, drawn from a wide spectrum of disciplines and backgrounds, to develop new collaborations, improve interaction between UK researchers and those in developing countries and build communities of researchers that can submit high quality applications for other GCRF funding calls.
