The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research in collaboration with the WHO is calling for proposals for the ¨Health policy analysis for health taxes: Lessons from countries¨ programme. This call for proposals is for up to eight country case studies examining how political economy factors influence the design, adoption and implementation of health taxes at national or sub-national levels. Informed by qualitative data from key country stakeholders, research teams will develop analytical case studies based on a common conceptual framework. Application deadline December 23, 2022.

The Global Grand Challenge is calling for applications to the Pathogen Genomic Surveillance and Immunology in Asia grant. Pathogen Genomic Surveillance (PGS) can provide information about pathogen evolution and insight into the genetic basis of changes in virulence or resistance to interventions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, genomic surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 was established by many countries, including countries in Asia. It may be possible to leverage this capacity for genomic surveillance of priority endemic or epidemic pathogens. Application deadline December 16, 2022.
