The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research in collaboration with the WHO is calling for proposals for the ¨Health policy analysis for health taxes: Lessons from countries¨ programme. This call for proposals is for up to eight country case studies examining how political economy factors influence the design, adoption and implementation of health taxes at national or sub-national levels. Informed by qualitative data from key country stakeholders, research teams will develop analytical case studies based on a common conceptual framework. Application deadline December 23, 2022.

The Global Grand Challenge is calling for applications to the Pathogen Genomic Surveillance and Immunology in Asia grant. Pathogen Genomic Surveillance (PGS) can provide information about pathogen evolution and insight into the genetic basis of changes in virulence or resistance to interventions. During the COVID-19 pandemic, genomic surveillance for SARS-CoV-2 was established by many countries, including countries in Asia. It may be possible to leverage this capacity for genomic surveillance of priority endemic or epidemic pathogens. Application deadline December 16, 2022.

This RFP seeks innovative approaches to modeling of women's health issues or of broader health topics that incorporate a gender lens. Application deadline December 16, 2022.

The European Research Council (ERC) is calling for proposals for the Science Journalism Initiative. The ERC wishes to support an organisation or a consortium of organisations to set up a funding scheme that would facilitate 3-5-month stays of journalists at research institutions. The purpose is to give the journalists opportunities to learn and work on in-depth reporting projects by immersing themselves in the research environment and interacting with scientists and scholars. The Wellcome Career Development Awards scheme provides funding for mid-career researchers from any discipline who have the potential to be international research leaders. They will develop their research capabilities, drive innovative programmes of work and deliver significant shifts in understanding that could improve human life, health and wellbeing. 

The European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases (ESPID) offers Postgraduate Teaching Visits To Resource Poor Countries. The aim of this scheme is to provide encouragement and support to ESPID members wishing to devote time to PID teaching and training activities in resource poor countries. For support, visits should be by ESPID members at the written invitation of the host institution.

The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) is calling for applications to the Partnership Projects PRC3 scheme. This funding scheme provides funding and support to create new opportunities for researchers and policy makers to work together to define research questions, undertake research, interpret the findings and implement the findings into policy and practice.
