A new tool for assessing the cost-effectiveness of radical cure options: the radical cure online model
P. vivax information hub invite you to participate in the webinar on “A new tool for assessing the cost-effectiveness of radical cure options: the radical cure online model“. Quantitative and qualitative screening for glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency and tafenoquine provide new opportunities for the treatment and control of Plasmodium vivax malaria. We have built an interactive online tool to help malaria control programs and decision makers start to think about the cost-effectiveness of different options for the radical cure of vivax malaria.

The tool can be found at http://lab.qmalaria.org/shiny/TFQApp/. It compares the following strategies:
- unsupervised primaquine without G6PD screening,
- unsupervised primaquine after screening with a qualitative G6PD test,
- unsupervised primaquine after screening with a quantitative G6PD test, and
- tafenoquine after screening with a quantitative G6PD test.
This presentation will provide an overview of the tool and demonstrate its features while giving instructions to the attendees on how to use the tool on their own. As the tool is under development, this will be an interactive session and attendees will be encouraged to provide feedback on what would improve its usefulness.
