Malaria GRS 2023: Science Driving Malaria Interventions and Elimination Strategies
The “Malaria” Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) 2023: Science Driving Malaria Interventions and Elimination Strategies is open for applications.
Despite significant reductions in the global malaria burden in the last decade, achieving global malaria eradication depends on the development of novel tools and strategies. A more thorough understanding of the complex relationships between the parasite, the human host, and the mosquito vector is needed. The GRS will provide an opportunity for early career investigators to present unpublished work on topics including the biology of Plasmodium parasites, vector biology, host-parasite interactions, immune responses, molecular mechanisms of virulence and resistance, pathophysiology, epidemiology, asymptomatic reservoirs, and transmission dynamics. All participants will have the opportunity to present either a poster or short talk.
Date: May 27 – 28, 2023
Location: Castelldefels, Barcelona, Spain
Application Instructions:
The seminar will feature approximately 10 talks and 2 poster sessions.
- All attendees are expected to actively participate in the GRS, either by giving an oral presentation or presenting a poster. Therefore, all applications must include an abstract.
- Applicants not chosen for talks and those who apply after the deadline to be considered for an oral presentation will be expected to present a poster.
Gordon Research Seminars are 2-day meetings which take place on Saturday and Sunday just prior to the start of the associated “Malaria” Gordon Research Conference (GRC). Those interested in attending both meetings must submit an application for the GRC in addition to an application for the GRS.
Important dates:
- GRS Speaker Abstract Deadline – February 19, 2023.
- Application deadline – April 29, 2023.
