Malaria Genomic Epidemiology Journal Club: The evolution of hyper-diverged lineages in two mysterious cell-surface antigens of the malaria parasite, P. falciparum
Malaria Genomic Epidemiology Network (MalariaGEN) is inviting registrations for the Malaria Genomic Epidemiology Journal Club on “The evolution of hyper-diverged lineages in two mysterious cell-surface antigens of the malaria parasite, P. falciparum”.
Date: May 28, 2024
Time: 2:30pm – 3:30pm CEST
Speaker:
- Dr Brice Letcher is a post-doctoral researcher at École normale supérieure de Lyon who seeks to understand genome biology through the lens of evolution. In his recent first-author publication in PLOS Biology (https://journals.plos.org/plosbiology/article?id=10.1371/journal.pbio.3002507), Dr Letcher explores the evolution of hyper-diverged lineages in two mysterious proteins (called antigens) expressed on the cell-surface of the malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum.
