MakSPH Call for Applications: Fifth Cohort of the African Leadership and Management Training for Impact in Malaria Eradication (ALAMIME)

The Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) in Uganda with funding from the Gates Foundation, in collaboration with ten schools of Public Health in eight other high burden Malaria countries (Tanzania, Nigeria, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Niger, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Togo and Benin) is implementing the African Leadership and Management training for impact in Malaria Eradication (ALAMIME) programme. The programme is soliciting applications for the fifth cohort for the training and will be held from January to May online.

Programme Structure:

  • Module 1: Introduction to Leadership and Management and Data Use for Malaria Elimination – January 2026
  • Module 2: Leading and Managing Programmes – February 2026
  • Module 3: The Science and Art of Malaria Elimination – March 2026
  • Module 4: Data Use and Evidence for Decision-Making – May 2026
  • Practicum: Analysis of malaria programme data and generating countermeasures
  • Alumni Activities: Monthly webinars and a community of practice

Eligibility:

  • Applicants should be officers working in a malaria control/elimination program at National or SubNational (local government) level
  • From one of the nine consortium member countries (Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burkina Faso, Niger, Nigeria, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Benin)

This is a free training; participants will not be required to pay any fees, as the training tuition is fully sponsored by the Gates Foundation.
