MAGNETS Call for Applications: Master’s fellowships
The MAGNETS (Malaria Genomic Epidemiology and Biostatistics Network for Enhancing Talent in Sub-Saharan Africa) programme has opened applications for 10 fully funded Master’s fellowships for early- and mid-career researchers based in Sub-Saharan Africa.
MAGNETS is a consortium of six institutions: CISM- Centro de Investigação em Saúde de Manhiça, Infectious Disease Research Collaboration, National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) through Wits Health Consortium, Armauer Hansen Research Institute, ISGlobal, and the University of California, San Francisco.
Funded by the European Union through Global Health EDCTP3 under Horizon Europe, MAGNETS supports advanced training and research in malaria genomic epidemiology, biostatistics, and public health, fields that play a key role in informing malaria surveillance, control, and elimination strategies across the region.
Over a two-year period, fellows will be based at one of four host institutions in Mozambique, Ethiopia, Uganda, or South Africa. Working within active research programmes, they will receive academic supervision from leading researchers, engage with National Malaria Programmes, and contribute to ongoing efforts to generate evidence relevant to local and regional public health priorities.
