“la Caixa” Foundation Call for Applications: Social Research Call 2026 (SRC 2026)
The Social Observatory of the ”la Caixa” Foundation launches the Social Research Call 2026 to fund excellent, innovative and socially -oriented research projects.
The objectives of the Social Observatory’s research calls are:
- To support new research that addresses issues of relevance in the current
socio-economic context. - To study society as a whole and the social impact that a given phenomenon
may have.
Eligibility:
- Proposals must be focused on researching social sciences and humanities and provide new knowledge to understand current and emerging social issues. As well, they must be focused on the social aspects and not on the clinical,preventive, diagnostic and technical aspects.
- The geographic scope must be Spain and/or Portugal.
- Project leader:
- The call aims to support proposals led by project leaders (“PLs”) of any nationality who conduct their research activity at a public or private university, or a non-profit research-performing organization legally based in Spain or Portugal.
- Project leaders must hold a PhD awarded more than 2 years before the calldeadline (i.e. before 22 January 2024).
- Host organization:
- The host organization (“HO”) must be a public or private university, or a non-profit organization dedicated to conducting research, directly and on its own,according to its statutes, legally based in Spain or Portugal.
Funding details:
- It is planned to finance projects of up to €115,000
- A maximum duration of 24 months
How to apply:
- Phase 1: a short proposal must be submitted within the established deadline through ”la Caixa” Foundation’s call online management system available on the programme website: http://grants.lacaixafoundation.org/
- Phase 2: successful preselected proposals are invited to submit a full proposal, budget, work plan, and two expertise documents (research and public/social sector) for the PL (and team if applicable).
