IVI’s 25th International Vaccinology Course
The International Vaccine Institute is inviting you to join the 25th International Vaccinology Course, a training program to build knowledge, practical skills, and connections in vaccine science and development.
Date: 31 August-4 September 2026
Locations: Seoul, Republic of Korea | Kigali, Rwanda | Stockholm, Sweden
Who should attend?
- Researchers from around the world who are working, studying, or conducting research in vaccinology to register for the course.
- Background in vaccines, biotechnology, public health, or a related field, with professional proficiency in English is highly recommended.
- The course will be conducted entirely in English without translation or interpretation services.
Locations:
The course will take place in person at three locations: IVI headquarters in Seoul, Republic of Korea; Kigali, Rwanda, co-hosted by the University of Rwanda; and Stockholm, Sweden, co-hosted by the Karolinska Institutet.
Fees:
- Seoul- $2,500
- Kigali*- $1,500
- Stockholm**- $2,500
The course fee includes all course materials, daily lunches and refreshments, a networking reception, as well as the welcome dinner. Please note that airfare, accommodation, and ground transportation are not included. Travel arrangements are covered for fellows and invited speakers; all other participants are responsible for organizing their own travel.
* Students currently enrolled at the University of Rwanda (UR) are eligible to apply for the International Vaccinology Course directly through the university. Participation with eligible registration through UR is free of charge. More information will be shared by 20 April 2026.
** Ph.D. students from across Swedish universities and students currently enrolled in courses at Karolinska Institutet (KI) are eligible to apply for the International Vaccinology Course directly through KI. Participation with eligible registration through KI is free of charge. More information will be shared by 20 April 2026.
Vaccinology Fellowship:
The IVI Vaccinology Fellowship is open to researchers from low- and middle-income countries and supports their participation in the International Vaccinology Course. IVI invites researchers from these countries who are working, studying, or conducting research in vaccinology to apply for the fellowship. It is recommended that applicants have a background in vaccines, biotechnology, public health, or a related field, with professional proficiency in English, as the course will be conducted entirely in English.
The IVI Vaccinology Fellowship provides financial support to attend the course, including the course fee, travel, accommodation, and meals, to selected researchers from low- and middle-income countries who demonstrate leadership potential in public health in their home countries and current workplaces. Fellows will attend the course as full participants at one of the three locations.
