Indo-Swiss Joint Research Programme (ISJRP) 2026 – Call for Proposals
The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), has announced a new Call for Joint Research Projects (JRPs) under the Indo-Swiss Joint Research Programme (ISJRP).
Research field:
The programme encourages proposals aligned with the One Health framework, which recognizes the interconnected relationship between human health, animal health, and environmental health.
Key research areas include:
- Zoonotic diseases and spillover dynamics
- Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) diagnostics
- Vector-borne diseases
- Host-pathogen interactions
- Development of novel therapeutics and alternatives to antibiotics
- Technology-enabled disease surveillance
- Environmental and ecosystem health assessments
- Climate change impacts on health
Eligibility:
- At least one research partner from India
- At least one research partner from Switzerland
This collaboration aims to combine expertise, research infrastructure, and scientific knowledge from both countries.
Funding Support:
For the Indian side (DBT / ICMR):
- Funding support up to ₹2.5 Crore per project
- Covers equipment, manpower, consumables, travel, workshops, and research activities.
For the Swiss side (SNSF):
- Funding up to CHF 400,000 per project.
Project Duration: 3-4 years
