I4KIDS Call for Projects: Innovation Program 2022

The i4KIDS network aims to promote innovation in paediatric and maternal health to bring solutions designed, developed and tested with and for children and mothers. To achieve this goal, the i4KIDS network launches its Innovation Program 2022 and calls for participation to any eligible project that wants to make an impact on the future of children and mothers.

The i4KIDS Innovation Program is aimed at identifying the pediatric and maternal health projects with the greatest potential and helping them move closer to the market.

Participants can participate in two different Program categories:

1. i4KIDS Start (Only for i4KIDS members):

i4KIDS Start aims to de-risk and validate research-stage projects by means of providing consultancy services in the field of Regulatory, Business Plan, Intellectual Property, Market Access, Technological Feasibility and Scalability studies, and Exploitation Strategy, among others.

Only i4KIDS members can apply to this category (the members’ list can be found in Appendix A). An external expert panel will evaluate and select one winning project, which will be awarded a 15.000€ voucher to be used in consultancy services. Eligibility:

  • Projects belonging to or in collaboration with i4KIDS members (see Appendix A). Proposals must be presented through an i4KIDS member.
  • Research-stage projects (TRL 2 or above)

2. i4KIDS Innovation Context (Only for i4KIDS members):

i4KIDS Innovation Contest aims to support the acceleration of entrepreneurial projects toward the market. Through an open call, any eligible project (members and non-members of the i4KIDS network) can present their proposals. The program will select 5 candidate projects that will defend their proposals in a pitch competition, which will take place during the Pediatric Innovation Day (PID) on the 21st of September 2022, in Barcelona. All 5 finalists will receive a Pitch Training. During the public presentation, an expert jury will evaluate the proposals and will select two winning projects, which will be awarded the i4KIDS prize (1st prize: 20.000€, 2nd prize: 5.000€).

Eligibility:

  • Innovation projects and/or early-stage start-ups (start-ups that have not raised private investment rounds and without marketed products).
  • Proposals with a proof-of-concept (TRL3 or above).
  • Proposals led by highly committed project leaders, with availability to attend the “Pitch Training Program” and the “Pitch Competition” in Barcelona. An online option for the Pitch Training Program will be available for projects abroad.
  • Winning projects of previous i4KIDS Innovation Contest editions are not elegible.
