H3D Foundation Webinar: “The ClpXP proteolytic complex: from basic principles to drug discovery”
H3D invites you to join the webinar “The ClpXP proteolytic complex: from basic principles to drug discovery” with Walid Houry.
Date: 28 May 2026
Time: 4:00PM (SAST)
Location: Online
Synopsis:
The bacterial ClpP protease is essential for the virulence and infectivity of many human pathogens and has emerged as a novel antibacterial drug target. Several classes of small molecules that we developed dysregulate or activate ClpP, leading to uncontrolled protein degradation and cell death. During the meeting, it will be discussed the efforts at understanding the function of the protease and the development of compounds that target it.
Speaker:
- Professor Walid Houry, Department of Biochemistry, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto
