Government of India Call for Applications: BioCARe Programme for Women Researchers for 2024-25
The Department of Biotechnology of the Ministry of Science & Technology invites the applications under the Biotechnology career advancement and re-orientation (BioCARe) Programme for women researchers. The programme is targeted to enhance the participation of women researchers for their Career Development in the area of Biotechnology. The programme is mainly for the career development of unemployed female researchers for whom it will be the first “sanctioned” extramural research funding.
Through this endeavour of the Department, a concerted effort would be made to give women researchers a strong foothold into the scientific profession, to help them re-enter into the mainstream and to provide a launch pad for further forays into the field of science and technology.
Eligibility criteria:
- The fellowship is open to Indian Women Nationals residing in India who are upto the age of 55 years and unemployed as on the closing date of the application. The fellowship is co-terminus with the duration of the project.
- The duration of the project will be maximum 3 years.
- The application can be submitted under
- Category-I: Women Researchers who have completed Ph.D. in any discipline of Life Sciences or allied areas/interdisciplinary sciences/MD/MDS/M.V.Sc.
- Category-II: Women Researchers who have completed M.Tech in Biotechnology or in allied areas/MPharma/equivalent Degree holders
- Candidates who are registered or enrolled in higher studies/Ph.D and/or receiving any fellowships are not eligible to apply. iv.
- The research support will be provided only to women researcher (unemployed/not in regular position) for whom this is the first extramural research grant (Women researchers who have received any earlier grant from any Government Funding Agency as Principal Investigator are not eligible).
