Global Health EDCTP3 Call for Applications: SAHRI Fellowship Program
EDCTP3 calls for application for the SAHRI Fellowship Program, an exceptional 3-year training program designed to empower 12 talented mid-career biomedical and clinical researchers from sub-Saharan Africa to become leaders in biomedical innovation and clinical research addressing the urgent challenges of infectious diseases across the continent.
The sub-Saharan Africa Health Research and Innovation (SAHRI) fellowship is one of the premier Fully Funded Programs in African health research. It is supported by a grant from the Global Health EDCTP3 and implemented by a consortium of academic and research institutions, led by the Institute of Tropical Medicine Antwerp in collaboration with BioNTech.
This fully-funded fellowship features three key phases:
- advanced academic training in a research-oriented Master of Science in Tropical Medicine,
- hands-on placements at premier African research institutions and BioNTech, and
- a strategic return-home implementation phase
Who can apply?
- Nationals of a sub-Saharan African country.
- Master’s degree (EU-equivalent) in clinical/biomedical sciences.
- Demonstrated commitment to infectious disease research.
- Institutional support for participation.
- Women are strongly encouraged to apply.
Funding details:
- The fellowship program covers tuition, internships, accommodation, living stipend, travel, research costs, and health insurance.
