Call for Proposals: Implementing Partners for the Global South Leaders in Epidemic Analytics and Response Network (GS LEARN)
The Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) is partnering with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (Gates Foundation) to create a Global South Leaders in Epidemic Analytics and Response Network (GS LEARN).
GS LEARN brings together three groups: regional facilitator organisations, Implementing Partners, and Participants. The primary objective of this CfP is to identify Implementing Partners who can develop leaders in epidemic analytics and response by strengthening and leveraging capacity of Global South research groups, institutions and professionals within organisations (“Participants”) in epidemic and pandemic data analytics and infectious disease modelling through training and mentorship.
Eligibility criteria:
- Applicants may be individual institutions (if preferred, with proposed Global South Participants) or a consortium. If a consortium, it must be led by or include partnerships with institutions based in the Global South.
- Applicants must be a multidisciplinary team of experts, from academic, non-profit, or public sector institutions, with proficiency in infectious disease modelling, public health and related or relevant disciplines.
- Proven track record of using modelling for outbreak prone/communicable diseases to inform or contribute to policy decisions at the national, regional or global level.
- Experience working collaboratively with Global South institutions and groups reflecting the key role of the Global South partners in the development and/or execution of projects.
- Track record of creating and conducting successful training programs in order to develop expertise in the different aspects of infectious disease modelling (including but not limited to modelling for policy makers, health economic modelling, resource demand and allocation, etc.), particularly in endemic settings.
