Call for Applications: Fellow of ASTMH (FASTMH) Committee Members
The American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH) seeks applications from members interested in serving on the Fellow of ASTMH (FASTMH) Committee. The FASTMH designation in the Society is an honor established under the leadership of 2011 President Edward Ryan, MD, FASTMH, and by the Board of Directors that recognizes sustained professional excellence in any phase of tropical medicine, hygiene, global health and related disciplines, as well as service to the Society.
ELIGIBILITY:
- FASTMH required and current ASTMH member (dues paid).
- Membership in one of the five Subgroups is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff; ability to meet deadlines.
- Time limited to review three to four weeks. Must be available to review and score applications in August/September.
- Committee members are appointed for a three-year term, with the option for renewal at the discretion of the Committee chair. Members can serve a maximum of two consecutive three-year terms.
Roles and Responsibilities of Committee:
- Provide expertise in assessing applications submitted by current members of the Society.
- Identify candidates based on Application Track, Service to the Society, Publications and Letters of Support.
- Willing and able to review applications online in August/September.
- Most work will be completed by email but one conference call to confirm selection may be required. Ability to meet deadlines is a must.
