APMEN webinar: Vector Control in Compromised Settings
Next APMEN webinar entitled Vector Control in Compromised Settings by Malaria Consortium will explore how malaria prevention strategies like vector control can be adapted in settings affected by humanitarian emergencies or population displacement.
Date: 28th of January 2026
Time: 2pm Singapore time
Location: On line
Vector control is our primary strategy to combat malaria in most parts of the malaria-endemic world, but is difficult to implement in situations of humanitarian emergencies, among migrant populations, displaced persons, and others, often in informal settlements or temporary shelters. How do we support these people when it is difficult, or not possible, to implement the traditional tools advocated by WHO, specifically ITNs and IRS? This webinar will describe the typical settings, challenges facing people and disease control, efforts to overcome these challenges, successes, shortcomings, and some recommendations.
