APMEN TechTalks webinar “Bednets: How do we ensure sustainability of our most effective malaria control tool”
The Asia Pacific Malaria Elimination Network (APMEN) are delighted to extend a cordial invitation to you for the upcoming APMEN TechTalks webinar titled “Bednets: How do we ensure sustainability of our most effective malaria control tool”. This webinar is proudly organized by the APMEN Vector Control Working Group (VCWG).
Combating malaria is a complicated business and Vector Control has been our primary tool to combat the disease for over a century. In recent decades, the focus has been on insecticide treated nets. A much-quoted publication by Bhat et al suggests that between the years 2000 and 2015, the use of ITN’s contributed 68% to the success of malaria burden reduction (663 million clinical cases averted). Any factor impacting our ability to distribute and use billions of bednets therefore holds huge consequences. This webinar will explore these issues and a new mechanism to increase access to more effective mosquito nets to prevent malaria in the region.
