APMEN-Kasetsart Online Course in Vector Surveillance

The Asia Pacific Malaria Elimination Network (APMEN) has partnered with Kasetsart University (KU) in Bangkok to produce a 5-module series of trainings under the heading of “APMEN-Kasetsart Online Course in Vector Surveillance.

In our attempts to eliminate malaria, it is useful to remember that ever since it was discovered well over 100 years ago that Anopheles mosquitoes are the vectors, Vector Control has been our primary strategy to overcome this ancient affliction. Vector Control rests squarely on effective Vector Surveillance. However, published reports have shown that globally there is a strong need for capacity-strengthening in vector surveillance, and National Malaria Control Programmes have indicated a desire to receive training support to bolster the shortfalls in skills. To help meet this demand, the online 5-module series of trainings was developed.
