Malaria vaccines evidence report: considerations for a three-dose versus four-dose vaccination schedule in areas of perennial malaria transmission
Published: 03/09/2025
This background paper was developed by the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) / Malaria Policy Advisory Group (MPAG) Working Group on Malaria Vaccines to support the joint session of the SAGE/MPAG held on September 22-25, 2025.
The purpose of this session was to present SAGE and MPAG with the latest evidence on the effectiveness, safety, impact and programmatic considerations of a 3-dose compared to the currently recommended 4-dose malaria vaccination schedule in perennial (year-round) malaria transmission settings.
The full evidence report and other background documents discussed at the meeting are available in the SAGE Yellow Book.
