The Malaria War in Indonesia: Hygiene and Medical Care of the Army and Navy in the Japanese Occupied Communities

Objectives

This socio-medical history study aims at exploring social life through medical care, hygiene, epidemic prevention, lifestyle, medical technology, public awareness activities, social practices, and resulting changes in the 3 military-administered regions under the 16th Army, the 25th Army and the Navy by focusing on malaria in Japanese military-occupied Indonesia (1942-1945).
