Evidence and Advocacy for Action on Artemisinin-Resistance (AMDR Action)

Objectives

The effort focuses on three priorities:

  1. Synthesising the latest evidence: Bringing together new research on where resistance is emerging, how it may spread, and the economic consequences of delayed action.
  2. Communicating the risk clearly: Developing accessible materials for policymakers, donors, and media to ensure the issue receives the attention it requires.
  3. Mobilising early action: Encouraging governments and global health partners to invest in targeted resistance mitigation before treatment failure becomes widespread.

One goal of this effort is to mobilise approximately $100 million in near-term funding to support resistance mitigation across Africa, a relatively modest investment compared with the potential costs of inaction.
