The effect of mobile phone text-message reminders on health workers’ adherence to malaria case management guidelines in Malawi

Objectives

The primary objective of this study in Malawi is to evaluate the effectiveness of text message reminders to health workers in Malawi to improve case management of malaria and other common illnesses.

Secondary objectives include:

1. To determine whether messages on a broader range of diseases are as effective in improving malaria case management as messages on malaria case management alone; and
2. To determine the effect of text message reminders on the case management quality of other common diseases in Malawi.
