Correspondent

Robert Mitchell is a Research Scientist specializing in immune responses to infectious diseases and vaccines. He earned his doctoral degree in Medicine and Translational Research from the Universitat de Barcelona and ISGlobal, where his research centered on identifying immune correlates of protection and risk associated with the RTS,S/AS01E malaria vaccine during the Phase III clinical trial. His previous work at New York University School of Medicine focused on evaluating the immunogenicity and efficacy of preclinical vaccine and adjuvant formulations targeting the pre-erythrocytic stage of malaria.

He is currently pursuing postdoctoral research at the University of Connecticut on the development of vaccine formulations for infectious diseases optimized for delivery via microneedle systems.

Serving as a MESA Correspondent has been a rewarding experience, enabling me to remain engaged with the malaria research community and stay informed on global efforts toward malaria eradication.
