
Otubea Owusu Akrofi
Otubea Owusu Akrofi is a Medical Entomologist and Project Management Professional with Ghana’s National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP), where she serves as Deputy Chief Entomologist and heads the vector control unit. She leads nationwide implementation of key malaria interventions, including insecticide-treated nets, indoor residual spraying, larviciding, and entomological surveillance. She has contributed to national malaria strategies and policies, coordinates stakeholder collaborations, and supports capacity building. She is also involved in a number of operational research on vector control tools. She is pursuing a PhD at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, focusing on insecticide resistance and its impact on IRS effectiveness in Ghana.
It was a privilege for me to work as a MESA correspondent at PAMCA. This unearthed a knack in me that I almost forgot I had.
