Jackson Nyarko

Jackson Nyarko is by profession a Malaria researcher and medical entomologist with more than 8 years of experience evaluating, implementing and strengthening evidence for vector-control interventions across West and East Africa. He brings first-hand experience in novel biological control of invasive Anopheles stephensi, GLP-compliant evaluation and evidence appraisal of LLINs and IRS products, spatial repellents and attractive toxic sugar baits. He also has experience in research and programme implementation of insecticide-resistance monitoring, operational research, surveillance and research-quality assurance. He is experienced in interrogating study methods, synthesising technical and contextual evidence, identifying implementation constraints, and translating findings into programme and investment decisions.

His PhD candidature is in medical entomology with quantitative training in epidemiology, biostatistics and malaria intervention and vector control tools research. He’s abnormally curious— ask lots of questions, and is willing to interrogate others’ work. This curiosity also extends to his own work—non-defensive when his research comes under scrutiny.
