Diane Leslie Nkahe
Miss Nkahe Diane Leslie is a final-year PhD candidate in Parasitology and Ecology at the University of Yaoundé I, and a Research Assistant at OCEAC in the Malaria Research Unit of Yaoundé, Cameroon. Her doctoral research integrates field based vector surveillance, high throughput molecular diagnostics, and population genomics approaches to characterize resistance associated genetic variants and evolutionary dynamics under insecticide and selection pressure.
Miss Nkahe is interested in genomic and molecular mechanisms of insecticide resistance and data interpretation for public health decision making. She is eager to contribute to genomics driven malaria surveillance, diagnostic innovation, and evidence-based vector control strategies in Cameroon and across Africa.
I have already served as MESA Correspondent on three different occasions, and each time it has been a very rewarding experience, both personally and professionally. Indeed, this has enabled me not only to disseminate knowledge about malaria on a large scale, but also to expand my network, lay solid professional foundations and meet some wonderful people.
