MASHA Call for Applications: Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases 2026 course

The Modelling and Simulation Hub, Africa (MASHA) at the University of Cape Town is offering a one-week short course on the Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Diseases (MMID).

Dates: 31 August – 4 September 2026

Location: Modelling and Simulation Hub, Africa (MASHA), University of Cape Town

This intensive course introduces participants to the application of mathematical models and computer simulation to understand infectious disease transmission and evaluate the potential impact of public health interventions on morbidity and mortality.

The course combines lectures, discussions, and hands-on practical sessions, providing participants with both the theoretical foundations and practical skills needed to apply infectious disease modelling in research and public health.

Course Fee:

The course fee is ZAR 9,500.00 and covers:

  • Course registration
  • Lunches during the course

Accommodation, travel, and all other meals are the responsibility of participants.
