EU Call for Proposals: ERC PLUS Grant (ERC-2026-PLUS)

The EU Commission is calling for proposals for its  ERC PLUS Grant (ERC-2026-PLUS) to  support outstanding Principal Investigators who address a major scientific challenge

Scholars at all career stages can apply for an ERC Plus Grant if they have an outstanding record of scientific achievement at the forefront of their field. Their intellectual leadership will be evaluated in comparison to peers at their own career stage. No specific eligibility criteria with respect to the academic requirements are foreseen.

A researcher may hold only one ERC Plus Grant in their lifetime.

Key Facts: ERC Plus

  • Budget: Up to €7 Million. (Lump Sum)
  • Duration: 4 to 7 years (up to 84 months).
  • Vision: To open entirely new avenues of research or transform a field.
  • Prestige: Only ~30 grants will be awarded annually, making it 30x more selective than standard grants.
