This APMEN case study highlighs malaria elimination achievements and best practices from ten countries across the Asia Pacific region: Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Timor-Leste. The report groups these experiences into four themes: preventing re-establishment after certification, strengthening surveillance and digital systems, community-led approaches for hard-to-reach populations, and innovations in treatment and vector control.
Across all countries, several common success factors emerged: strong political commitment, sustained community engagement, cross-border collaboration, and innovative approaches tailored to local contexts. The study also highlights APMEN’s role in supporting peer learning, technical exchange, and regional cooperation as countries work toward a malaria-free Asia Pacific by 2030.
