Coimbra Group Call for Applications: Coimbra Group Scholarship Programme

Coimbra Group invites applications for its Coimbra Group Scholarship Programme to promote academic collaboration among its member universities and to facilitate international cooperation both within and outside Europe.  

The University of Bergen participates in this programme as a means to further strengthen our engagement with Africa and Latin America, and offer two scholarships with a duration of 1 to 3 months. 

Requirements:

  • The programme is open to all academic disciplines
  • Applicants must be doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, or junior researchers
  • The research project proposal should demonstrate how the stay will lead to further academic collaboration between the University of Bergen and the candidate’s home institution
  • Additionally, applicants must meet the requirements defined in the two calls:

The scholarship:

  • A stipend of €1800 per month (up to 3 months)
  • Travel support for a round-trip journey, up to €1200
  • No insurance coverage for those accepted into the programme
  • Applicants are responsible for finding accommodation, but the University of Bergen can assist as far as possible
  • Research stays at the University of Bergen should take place during the academic year 2026/2027
