AMAX Summer School
The African Modeling and Analytics Academy for Women (AMAX) is organizing the third edition of the AMAX Summer School, focused on elevating research and expertise in the field of Modeling and Analytics for Public Health, with a dedicated emphasis on Women’s Health in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) and Decision Making.

AMAX Summer School 2026 – Key Events:
- Opening Ceremony on Monday, 11 May
Join the 3rd edition of the AMAX Summer School for its official launch. The opening ceremony will feature welcome remarks, an overview of AMAX and participating partner institution, and a plenary on translating modelling evidence into policy. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with experts, learn about the vision behind AMAX, and connect with fellow participants and collaborators.
- AMAX Training: 12th May – 19th May
Over six intensive days, the Summer School will combine lectures, hands-on group work, case studies, and social learning. The program will cover key themes in modelling for health decision-making, including epidemiology, economics, equity, ethics, and translating evidence into policy. Sessions are designed to foster practical skill development, interactive discussions, and collaborative networking.
- Closing Session on Tuesday, 20 May
The Summer School will conclude with final project presentations and a closing panel reflecting on the learnings of the summer school, particularly the translation of modelling insights into policy and practice. Policymakers, participants, and other invited guests will engage in discussions that foster dialogue between researchers, evidence users, and decision-makers.
