Rationale and Abstract

Nampula Province has one of the highest malaria prevalence rates in Mozambique (INE & IFC, 2024). The districts of Moma and Larde face challenges in delivering basic health services due to population growth driven by mining activities and the destruction of health infrastructure caused by Cyclone Gombe in March 2022. According to information provided by health authorities in the mentioned districts, malaria is the leading cause of outpatient consultations, despite the implementation of key control measures. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the actual malaria burden in these two districts.
